Everything we see on our computer screen is visual communication. Textual communication is simply a category of visual communication.
This post introduces a new pdf, called Telling and Showing, which provides a brief introduction to visual communication. This introduction will be useful to anyone who writes, from beginner to expert.
Telling and Showing – Visual Communication
We always write for our audience. Maybe I’m taking a shot in the dark here, but if you’re a writer, then your audience is probably limited to human beings.
People read quickly, we skim. We try to get the gist of the article so that we can quickly move on with our lives. If we can, we’d sometimes even like it if we could cut past all the small talk and just get to the meat of the information.
Big blocks of text make this impossible. When content is put into outline form, as it is in Telling and Showing, readers are able to jump in and quickly get what they need.
Download Telling and Showing, flip through it (it’s very short), enjoy, and pass it on to a friend!
